The name ‘He Akina’ originates from Tūwharetoa’s haka Tuwhare, where ‘Aki’ means to support one another. This represents the foundation for He Akina Limited - we are a shared services organisation established to support Ngāti Tūwharetoa entities with a wide range of business services.

We are the Trust Office for the following trusts and their subsidiaries: Opepe Farm Trust, Te Pae o Waimihia Trust, Tauhara Moana Trust, Tauhara Middle 15 Trust, Tauhara Mountain Trust, Kaimanawa 3B2A & 3B2B Trust, Wairakei Charitable Trust, Tahorakuri No. 2 Trust and East Taupo Lands Trust.
